An Evening with Taylor

Taylor all dressed and ready for The Hannah Montana Movie.

Look at the beautiful eyes!

Taylor and I ... oops ... I didn't do a very good job taking this one ... but Taylor is just so darn cute I had to post it!

Me ... taken by Taylor.

After a fun afternoon with Jayden I surprised Taylor after school with an girls evening out. We started with dinner at Casa Mexico, one of my favorite places to eat in Bakersfield :) yum. Taylor, Candi and I all enjoyed having the Taco Tuesday specials. Then we went over to Edwards at the Market Place and Rhonda was able to join us for the rest of our girls evening out. We bought our tickets and had time to kill, so what do girls do with time to kill.... shopping. After a little shopping we went and saw The Hannah Montana Movie. I expected to enjoy it by watching Taylor's excitment, but was very pleasantly surprised... it was a good movie. On the way home we stopped and picked up the soundtrack for "Taylor" and we; as Taylor says, blasted it on the drive home with all the windows down. That was fun watching Taylor giggle between songs and sing her little heart out with the music. This was a very good day for Grandma... a great way to spend a day!!

Our Move Again.

For those of you that don't already know; we have moved again. We left Alabama about a month ago and headed back to California. We haven't exactly settled in yet and are currently staying in our RV at a park in La Verne. At this time we decided that with everything happening in the family it was best for us to move back home and live close to family. We are glad we made that decision and we are enjoying every moment with Dad and Mom (Smith). It really does feel like we have come home and I am very happy to be a Californian!!

Afternoon with Jayden

Jayden and I at the park.
Jayden posing with silly faces at the park.
Jayden rolling in the grass...laughing at everything ... including his Grandma. A fun day at the park.
Jayden taking pictures of Grandma on the phone. What a good photographer. Even taking pictures laying on the grass.

I spent the day in Bakersfield on Tuesday. Drove up to spend the day with the grandkids, and surprise them! What a fun day for Grandma. I was greeted at the door by Jayden who was screaming "It's Grandma" and running around the entry all excited. Thank you Dustin for reminding him to open the door, in all of Jayden's excitment that is one thing he forgot. We went to Wendy's for lunch on Jayden's reguest.. he loves his Chicken Nuggets and chocolate frosties. Then we went to the park to play. We had many races around the park and one we even tied... but the rest Jayden won! What a fun way to spend the afternoon. I had a blast.

Renaissance Fair 2009

I went with a couple of friends to this years Renaissance Fair in Irwindale, California. What a sight to see. Sharon invited me with a free ticket and a chance to see something new. So I went and what an event. I have never been and did not know what we were getting into to. But I would have to say that I enjoyed myself and am very happy that I went. I may never go again but I happy I went anyway. But the food was excellent, and those who know me know I am all about junk food. :) Fresh fried potato chips, sausage, and caramel apples... my kind of lunch.

Alabama

Well, we made it to Alabama.
Here we are at Point Mallard Campground. Our temporary home. We will be living here in our rv until we find our newest home. So far we are very happy with Alabama. We found a very nice campground. It is a city park with a golf course, ice skating rink, water park, and bike trails. It has a lot of nice amenities many of which we probably won't even use while staying here; but nice all the same. The people here at the park all are very nice and I have already meet a lady that invited me to walk with her each morning. As we explore the area I will post more pictures. We have already gone to lunch at Cracker Barrel and dinner at Chili's. Two of my favorite places to eat. We still need to have breakfast at the Waffle House. We went grocery shopping at the Piggly Wiggly and I still get a kick out of that one. I had to laugh when I saw a couple walking their dogs. My two favorites types of dogs are Keeshond and Pomeranian; two very different dog types. Well; this couple was walking their two dogs are you guessed it; a Keeshond and a pom. I need to go make friends so I can enjoy their dogs. :)
We will keep you all posted on our adventure. I will do better at keeping up on the blog. I promise.

Along the road....

You know you are not on the west coast anymore when they actually have to post a minimum speed with the speed limit. This is a definite sign that the pace of life just slowed down for us. We are now in the south.
Arizona landscape. Just a view from the truck on our journey. I really enjoy looking at the different views and lanscapes while traveling across the country. Just thought I would share one with all of you.

Our second stop on our way to Alabama...Alta Loma!!!

Here we are with Mom and Dad!! It sure was nice to be able to spend the afternoon with them. We didn't live really close before but moving even farther away knocked Mom for a loop. It was good that we were able to come for a visit on our way. And of course Mom, being Mom, fixed us a nice early dinner (or late lunch) that was delicious. Looking forward to our next visit. We love you!!
Here we are with Aunt Marilyn, Mike, and Uncle Dave. Can you believe that Mike was actually our little ring bearer? Not so little any more... all grown up and making us feel old. Oh wait..we are old. Mom called Aunt Marilyn at work to let her know about our move and that we were at the house. So Uncle Dave and Mike went and picked her up early from work and they came by to visit us before we left.

And here we are with Grandma and Grandpa Burnham. Mom called and invited them over for our lunch telling them only that their were surprise visitors here that they would want to see. They were very surprised to see us at the house. And even more surprised when Bry told them we were moving to Alabama. Grandma looked very shocked!! A quick stop at Mom and Dad's for a little visiting turned out to be a house full of family. A very nice surprise for us.

Our first stop on our way to Alabama....Bakersfield!!

One on first night after leaving Oregon we went to Bakersfield, California. We spent the night in front of Dustin and Candi's house. We got there too late to see the kids; but our lovely daughter waited up for us. Then in the morning after being greeted with a little knock on the door by two wonderful kids we went into the house where Dustin and Candi fixed us a great breakfast. Our visit here was way too short but we were happy we were able to see everyone before we moved across the country. I had meant to take pictures with family in Oregon before leaving but never actually did it. So sorry for no pictures of us with the family in Oregon, no one will regret it more than I.

Friends from Kohl's

There are actually quite a few friends from working at Kohls in Albany that I will miss. Mitzy I will miss your laugh and your friendship. But I know we will keep in touch and keep that friendship; even if we have to travel a long ways to stay friends. Natalie I will miss your stories of your boys and miss the time we chatted in the office. Thank you for that space heater you can see behind us there; without you I would have been frozen in that chair. It is a good thing you are on line so much. So we can keep in touch. I am posting just the two pictures because I didn't get all the pictures I wanted and a few others that were taken just aren't flattering to either person. But know that I will miss many of you!

We will miss these cute faces!!!

Here are some of the faces I will miss the most from moving away. We are happy with the move and we think we will love living in Alabama. That doesn't mean we don't have people back on the west coast we will miss dearly. We will miss our family and friends. These are the faces we will miss the most! Taylor and Jayden cuddled up in the morning watching television together. Logan sucking on a fun dip stick. He loves his candy like his Momma.

Just a couple of pictures I took along a drive home in Oregon

Top picture I took on our drive home from Seaside, Oregon to Albany, Oregon. We stopped many places along the scenic drive home down the 101. Bryant is wonderful and knows how much I love to stop along the drive to just take a few pictures and look at the view. So here is a couple of shots I took on that drive home. The tree at the bottom is one that I said I liked; and there was not a place to pull over on the road we were driving on. Luckily there was no traffice so Bryant just stopped in the middle of the road. I opened the sunroof and stood up to take this picture. I love trees!
