Alabama

Well, we made it to Alabama.
Here we are at Point Mallard Campground. Our temporary home. We will be living here in our rv until we find our newest home. So far we are very happy with Alabama. We found a very nice campground. It is a city park with a golf course, ice skating rink, water park, and bike trails. It has a lot of nice amenities many of which we probably won't even use while staying here; but nice all the same. The people here at the park all are very nice and I have already meet a lady that invited me to walk with her each morning. As we explore the area I will post more pictures. We have already gone to lunch at Cracker Barrel and dinner at Chili's. Two of my favorite places to eat. We still need to have breakfast at the Waffle House. We went grocery shopping at the Piggly Wiggly and I still get a kick out of that one. I had to laugh when I saw a couple walking their dogs. My two favorites types of dogs are Keeshond and Pomeranian; two very different dog types. Well; this couple was walking their two dogs are you guessed it; a Keeshond and a pom. I need to go make friends so I can enjoy their dogs. :)
We will keep you all posted on our adventure. I will do better at keeping up on the blog. I promise.

Along the road....

You know you are not on the west coast anymore when they actually have to post a minimum speed with the speed limit. This is a definite sign that the pace of life just slowed down for us. We are now in the south.
Arizona landscape. Just a view from the truck on our journey. I really enjoy looking at the different views and lanscapes while traveling across the country. Just thought I would share one with all of you.

Our second stop on our way to Alabama...Alta Loma!!!

Here we are with Mom and Dad!! It sure was nice to be able to spend the afternoon with them. We didn't live really close before but moving even farther away knocked Mom for a loop. It was good that we were able to come for a visit on our way. And of course Mom, being Mom, fixed us a nice early dinner (or late lunch) that was delicious. Looking forward to our next visit. We love you!!
Here we are with Aunt Marilyn, Mike, and Uncle Dave. Can you believe that Mike was actually our little ring bearer? Not so little any more... all grown up and making us feel old. Oh wait..we are old. Mom called Aunt Marilyn at work to let her know about our move and that we were at the house. So Uncle Dave and Mike went and picked her up early from work and they came by to visit us before we left.

And here we are with Grandma and Grandpa Burnham. Mom called and invited them over for our lunch telling them only that their were surprise visitors here that they would want to see. They were very surprised to see us at the house. And even more surprised when Bry told them we were moving to Alabama. Grandma looked very shocked!! A quick stop at Mom and Dad's for a little visiting turned out to be a house full of family. A very nice surprise for us.

Our first stop on our way to Alabama....Bakersfield!!

One on first night after leaving Oregon we went to Bakersfield, California. We spent the night in front of Dustin and Candi's house. We got there too late to see the kids; but our lovely daughter waited up for us. Then in the morning after being greeted with a little knock on the door by two wonderful kids we went into the house where Dustin and Candi fixed us a great breakfast. Our visit here was way too short but we were happy we were able to see everyone before we moved across the country. I had meant to take pictures with family in Oregon before leaving but never actually did it. So sorry for no pictures of us with the family in Oregon, no one will regret it more than I.

Friends from Kohl's

There are actually quite a few friends from working at Kohls in Albany that I will miss. Mitzy I will miss your laugh and your friendship. But I know we will keep in touch and keep that friendship; even if we have to travel a long ways to stay friends. Natalie I will miss your stories of your boys and miss the time we chatted in the office. Thank you for that space heater you can see behind us there; without you I would have been frozen in that chair. It is a good thing you are on line so much. So we can keep in touch. I am posting just the two pictures because I didn't get all the pictures I wanted and a few others that were taken just aren't flattering to either person. But know that I will miss many of you!

We will miss these cute faces!!!

Here are some of the faces I will miss the most from moving away. We are happy with the move and we think we will love living in Alabama. That doesn't mean we don't have people back on the west coast we will miss dearly. We will miss our family and friends. These are the faces we will miss the most! Taylor and Jayden cuddled up in the morning watching television together. Logan sucking on a fun dip stick. He loves his candy like his Momma.

Just a couple of pictures I took along a drive home in Oregon

Top picture I took on our drive home from Seaside, Oregon to Albany, Oregon. We stopped many places along the scenic drive home down the 101. Bryant is wonderful and knows how much I love to stop along the drive to just take a few pictures and look at the view. So here is a couple of shots I took on that drive home. The tree at the bottom is one that I said I liked; and there was not a place to pull over on the road we were driving on. Luckily there was no traffice so Bryant just stopped in the middle of the road. I opened the sunroof and stood up to take this picture. I love trees!

Seaside Oregon

Bryant and I enjoyed a weekend away in Seaside, Oregon. We had never been to this little town before and found it very nice. We stayed at a nice hotel, which a beach front room. We spent a lot of time in two oversized comfortable reading chairs, watching the ocean and reading. Want a way to relax. We walked the main street of shops and did a little shopping. Ate some wonderful food at a few different restaraunts in the area; and walked the beach enjoying each other's company. If you are in this area; this is one town to stay at for a weekend. I would recommend it to all my friends.
